I was born in Batam and most of the members of the family besides my parents were also born in here. I am currently sitting at the age of nineteen and it has been many years that I cannot count where I have not go back to my parents' hometown. I missed it, everybody in the family missed it. And for this, my hometown belongs to my childhood. It happened few years ago when I was nine or ten or so. We went back because of my parents' business that I did not know back then. I mean, what do you know when you are this small, innocent, situational ignorant kid. The place I went is kind of double-sided coin. The first side is, the place is very refreshing, very traditional, and the nature vibe still dancing around the place. Besides, I used to go to the forest and joined other to swim on the big, devilish stream of river. However, they confirmed it safe, so, yeah. The river is very near to the forest which is the most quiet and calm place. Not to mention that the forest is very near to the butt of the village. In my hometown, there is also a ride called 'bemo' and my mother, my sister and I would ride it to the traditional market. The market is, for sure, crowd and the sells is very distinctive but it is more modernistic than any traditional hometown would have. Now the next side is the village have this unconcerned behavior. However, we understand the reason of people in the village do and think so. Most of the people, for example, will look at our family strange when we altogether brought much luggage to the side of our houses. People never saw that act, and the stares was very annoying. Or for another example, they are more extra on gossiping someone's problem or to share their disguise. But in the end, I still missed my hometown for better or worst, it has pros and cons but I never forget how my hometown's atmosphere blankets me comfortably.
